- Is the world at economic war? Trade wars, sanctions, export controls, supply chain disruption, asset seizures, cyber-attacks and disinformation have become almost routine news items in the last few years. These are all the weapons of economic warfare, albeit in an undeclared conflict.
- How do we make sense of all of this? What are the implications of accepting that we are in an economic conflict even if we don’t want to call it war? Might we actually be able to unlock economic mechanisms that can act as “deterrents” and therefore prevent a fighting war?
